Plurum help and FAQ
Sign in once, connect a model, add your first client and make your first image. The questions people ask are below, in groups.
From sign-in to your first image
Sign in once.
Download Plurum, drag it to Applications and open it. Sign in once on your account page in the browser, Free accounts included. After that, Plurum opens straight to work.
Connect a model.
Plurum runs on your own AI provider account. Add one key on Platforms and you can make images. You pay the provider directly, at its published rates.
- Google. Makes images and clips, and writes. Sign in to Google AI Studio and create an API key. Video and higher limits need billing switched on for the project.
- OpenAI. Makes and edits images, and writes. Use the developer platform at platform.openai.com, not ChatGPT. Add a payment method, then create a secret key. It is shown once, so copy it then.
- fal.ai. Brings many image and video models behind one key, and does not write. Create a key in your fal.ai account, and add credit before you make anything.
Plurum needs one provider that makes images and one that writes. A single provider can be both. Your key stays on your Mac, goes only to its own provider, and Plurum never shows it in full.
Add your first client.
A client holds one brand: its logos, colours, rules and brand document. Open Clients and press New client. Bring the client’s website or brand guide and Plurum reads it in for you to check, or set it up by hand.
Make your first image.
Open Generate, choose the client and describe the image. The estimated cost is on the button before you press it, and the client’s brand goes with the request whichever model you pick.
There is more in Plurum itself. Open Help, then Guide, for a page on each part of the app.
Questions people ask
Why Plurum?
The name comes from e pluribus unum: out of many, one. You can use models from several providers in one place, and each client’s brand rules go with each request, whichever model you pick.
Is it Mac only?
Yes, Plurum runs on macOS. Windows is on the roadmap, after launch.
Does it work with my AI assistant?
Yes, on every plan, Free included. Connect an assistant like Claude from Platforms, and it can make images for your clients. It can do what your plan can do, works inside a spending limit you set, and asks in Plurum before it goes past it.

Do I need an account?
Yes, everyone does, Free included. You sign in once on your account page in the browser, and after that Plurum opens straight to work. Your account holds your plan and your computers, never your clients or your images.

Why do I need my own provider account?
You pay the AI provider directly, on your own account. Each generation is charged by your provider at its published rate, and Plurum adds no markup. You can use an account with a supported provider such as Google, OpenAI or fal.ai, and Plurum shows you how to connect each one.

Do I need a provider key before I install?
No. Install Plurum and sign in first. Platforms shows where each provider’s key comes from, and you can add one when you are ready. You need one before you make an image.

Which provider should I start with?
One that makes images and writes covers both jobs, such as Google or OpenAI. fal.ai brings many image and video models behind one key but does not write, so pair it with a provider that does.

Do you see my client’s brand material?
No. Your brand documents, profiles, references and the images you make are stored on your Mac, or on a Team in a folder your team owns. When you generate, or ask Plurum to write or read something, the material that request needs goes to the AI provider on your own key. Our server sees a licence check, and any bug report or feature request you choose to send.

Can I use it offline?
Yes, for 30 days between licence checks. Plurum checks your licence when it can and keeps working when it can’t.
Is there a free trial?
There’s a Free plan instead.
In Plurum: Guide › Manage your plan
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. From launch, you cancel from your account, and it takes effect at the end of the period you’ve paid for. Nothing is deleted.
What happens if I stop paying?
You move to Free. You keep every client you have, and you can make up to 25 images a month for any of them. Video and the features only on paid plans stop, and your AI assistant keeps working. Your library, exports, past statements and brand profiles keep working, and nothing is deleted.
In Plurum: Guide › Manage your plan
Can I move between plans?
Yes, in either direction. Nothing is deleted, hidden or locked. On Free you keep every client you have, but Free allows one client, so you can’t add another.
How many computers per seat?
Two, such as a desktop and a laptop. To move to a new one, sign one out on your account page. There’s no support ticket.

What does Team include?
Everything in Studio, for three people or more, each with their own seat. Your team shares clients and work through a folder your team owns, such as Google Drive, Dropbox or a network drive, and none of it is stored on our server. The owner invites people and gives each one a role.
